Partners of Trauma Survivors & Dissociators PTSD Group - for Spouses/Significant Others of Survivors...
Because... Life Happens!
For men and women, gay and straight... all ages
This group is for men and women who have a spouse, significant other, partner who has PTSD, has survived childhood abuse, rape, or other traumatic experiences. It also covers partners of someone who has Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiplicity).
Being a caregiver or partner of someone who has suffered childhood abuse, been a victim or witness of a violent crime, or other traumatic events is very difficult. Often your partner will struggle with depression, bouts of anger, vulnerability, and have trouble with intimacy.
Survivors can go from being happy one minute to being angry, hurt or depressed the next. Often their reactions don't make sense and you are left wondering what happened. It can be really hard to cope with, even though you know it isn't about you.
You may even find you doubt yourself. You may wonder if you can handle what you are facing. It can make you feel like YOU are going crazy! You may be traumatized by the reactions and responses of your partner/spouse and it can be exhausting!
It can be especially hard when your partner becomes unable to leave the house, help keep things clean or even do simple things like showering or caring for him or herself. You hope for a brighter future, but the trauma seems to go on and on, often for years!
This group can help! It is support for YOU! A place where you can deal with your feelings, your frustrations and fears. You are not alone. Often, your partner gets all the help and support... but what about you? You are sacrificing and suffering too!
Time and Day of this group is to be determined. It will be based upon the needs of group members. The cost for this group is $40. It is asked that you make a commitment to the group to help keep this group emotionally safe.
Finally! A place of hope... for YOU! The Rainbow of HOPE!!!
