It depicts the struggle and healing tales of gender exploration. A great collection of personal accounts!		"Wrapped in Blue" Great personal account of a middle-aged woman's transitioning process! Excellent reviews and recommendations!

	"She's Not There... A Life in Two Genders" An autobiography by an English Professors journey of transitioning from male to female. She also discussed her life being married and the impact upon her family.		"Gender Outlaw" A great book exploring gender, sexuality, and life as a transgendered woman. From a heterosexual man to a lesbian woman, Kate explores the concepts of gender.		"My Gender Workbook" A great book for exploring one's gender and ideology of gender. Kate's perspective of gender is often controversial and inspirational! A must have for exploring gender!

	"Hello Cruel World" Kate Bornstein's book of surviving in the world with gender variance. As always, an interesting, insightful book that makes you think and challenge your thinking!		"Sexing the Body: Gender Politics and the Construction of Sexuality" Written by a biologist from Brown University, gender is explored from a Psychoneuroendocrin-ological viewpoint, it explores socialization of gender and facts of human biology.		"GenderQueer" This book is a writing of gender from different people's perspectives. It deconstructs the concept of gender and stereotypes.


	"TransActions" Viewpoint and autobiography of a transsexual woman. Politically challenging to stereotypical views. Great book! Highly recommend!		"The Transsexual's Survival Guide to Transition and Beyond" Useful book about living as a transsexual. Insightful and helpful. I recommend this for many clients.		"Feminizing Hormonal Therapy for the Transgendered" Written by a renowned transsexual surgeon, this book deals with hormone therapy and feminization process for mtf transsexuals.

	"Trans Forming Families" A classic book written for transgendered people who want to have families. Important book for anyone's bookshelf!		"The Transsexual's Survival Guide II: To Transition and Beyond for Family, Friends and Employers" A book written for significant others. Much needed book!

Crossdressers:
	"Alice in Genderland" Written by a psychiatrist who lives as both a female and a male. He writes about his life experience as a crossdresser. He talks a lot about how he and his wife have made it work.

Female-to-Male Transgenders/Gender Exploration
	"Transmen & FTMs All the information you ever wanted to know about being a transgendered male otherwise known as ftm. A classic!		"The Phallus Palace" Accounts written by female-to-male transgenders documenting their stories and experiences transitioning. Explores all aspects of transitioning.		"Body Alchemy" Photographic book about transsexual bodies. Beautiful photography of transsexual people.

	"Becoming a Visible Man" A first person account of transitioning from a female to male by activist, Jamison Green. Great for transmen and loved ones!		"FTM: Female-to-Male Transsexuals in Society" This book is considered a classic. Holly Devor explores FTM transsexualism from an academic and individual perspective. Excellent for academics and professionals.		"Just Add Hormones" A story about transitioning from female-to-male. An autobiographic account that examines the issues faced by female-to-male transsexuals.

	"True Selves" This book is the first book I have seen aimed at families, spouses/partners to help them understand what being a transsexual is all about. I highly recommend this book!		"She's Not the Man I Married" An essential book for heterosexual women whose boyfriend or spouse is transitioning from male to female. The only book I know of that is written from a spouse's perspective! A MUST READ!		"The Transsexual's Survival Guide II: To Transition and Beyond for Family, Friends and Employers" A book written for significant others. Much needed book!

	"My Husband Betty" Helen Boyd is a wife of a cross-dresser. She and her husband have made their marriage work - an important piece of work for spouses/partners		"Head Over Heels: Wives Who Stay with Cross-Dressers and Transsexuals" I don't know anything about this book. If someone reads it, could you please send me your feedback? Thanks!		"My Husband Wears My Clothes: Cross-dressing from the Perspective of a Wife" Great book for women exploring this issue. It addresses practical, family and moral perspectives of cross-dressing. Very good book for women.

Intersexed
	"Intersexed and Identity:The Contested Self" Great book for intersexed individuals, professionals and loved ones.		"Not Just a Touch: Living a Childhood of Sexual Abuse and Intersexed" A first-person account of being sexually abused as a child and being intersexed. Great book for anyone interested in understanding unique concerns about abuse and intersexed experience.		"Sugar and Spice and Puppy Dog Tails" An account of an intersexed person's experience growing up male, but with a female sense of self.

	"Sexing the Body" A book written by a biologist who deconstructs science and gender identification and assignment.		"As Nature Made Him: The Boy Who was Raised as a Girl" Classic autobiography of an intersexed person who was raised opposite of his personal gender identity.

Workplace Issues
	"Transsexual Workers: An Employers Guide" The only book on the market concerning transsexual employees for employers.		"Working with a Transsexual: A Guide for Coworkers" The only book on the market of its kind. Usually used along with "Trans-sexual Workers"

	"Transgender Emergence" A must have for any therapist working with transgender populations! Excellent Resource!!		"Transgender Care" Another important book for professionals working with transgender clients!		"Gender Loving Care" Book for professionals who work with transgender populations. Easier to read.

	"Social Services with Transgendered Youth" Written by leaders working with transgendered youth, a good piece about social services and transgendered youth. This book has been criticized for being generalized, but it is an important book for helping youth in social services.
